Job search questions, answered

Looking for work is hard enough. Here are straight answers about finding a job, and about how RollHound helps.

Finding work

I need work. Where do I start?

Start by being specific about what you want: the job titles you'd accept, your lowest acceptable salary, and where you can work (remote, or within driving distance). Then search where new jobs appear first, not just the big job boards: company career pages, and search sources that pull in listings from LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor. Apply early, because the first few days after a job is posted matter most. RollHound does this for you: tell it what you want once, and it keeps searching every day.

How do I find a job fast?

Speed comes from three things: seeing new postings early, skipping jobs that were never a fit, and not rewriting your resume from scratch for every application. RollHound checks job sources on a schedule so fresh postings reach you within hours, scores every job against your hard requirements so you don't waste time on the wrong ones, and prepares a tailored application from your real experience so you can act the same day.

Why can't I find a job when I have years of experience?

Often it isn't you. Many employers now use automated screening that filters on keywords, job titles and degree checkboxes before a person ever reads your application. Experienced people get filtered out because their titles don't match, their skills are described in different words, or they don't have a degree for a field that didn't offer one when they started. RollHound was built by someone this happened to. It helps you find roles where your experience truly fits, and describe that experience in the employer's language, using only what you have actually done.

Can I get a job without a college degree?

Yes. Many employers have dropped degree requirements for experienced candidates, and many skills in demand today, especially in technology and AI, weren't taught in college when experienced workers started their careers. The key is finding employers who value experience and showing that experience clearly. RollHound scores jobs on how well your actual experience fits, and its applications lead with proof of what you've done.

How do I get past AI resume screening and applicant tracking systems (ATS)?

No tool can honestly guarantee you'll pass every screener. What works is applying to roles that genuinely fit, using the same words the job posting uses for skills you really have, and keeping your resume simple enough for software to read. RollHound tailors each application to the posting from your verified experience. It never invents skills, titles or credentials, because fabricated claims can cost you the job later.

How long does it take to find a job?

It varies widely by field, seniority and location. Many experienced professionals search for months, and senior roles often take longer. You can shorten it by applying early to fresh postings, focusing on strong matches instead of mass-applying, and keeping the search going every day, even on the days you don't have energy for it. That daily consistency is what RollHound automates.

Where can I find remote jobs?

Remote jobs are spread across company career pages, remote-focused job boards and the major job sites. RollHound searches all of these, and its location check reads the posting carefully, so a job labeled remote that actually requires office days is flagged instead of slipping through.

About RollHound

What is RollHound?

RollHound is an AI job hunter. It continuously searches for jobs that match what you want, scores each one with a transparent fit score where your hard requirements (like salary and location) always win, and prepares tailored applications built only from your verified experience.

Where does RollHound find jobs?

From company career boards (including Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby), remote job boards, and on paid plans, premium sources that include listings found on LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor through Google for Jobs, plus employer career sites such as Workday. Duplicate listings of the same job are merged, and each one keeps a link to where it was found.

Will RollHound make things up on my resume or application?

No. RollHound writes applications only from your evidence library: the experience, results and credentials you've added and verified. If it can't support a claim with your evidence, it leaves it out and tells you what's missing. It never invents experience, credentials or answers.

Does RollHound apply to jobs for me?

RollHound finds the job, scores it and prepares the application. You stay in control: you review and approve before anything goes out. Some steps always come back to you, such as CAPTCHAs, legal attestations and logging in to an employer's site, and RollHound never works around them.

Can I search for more than one kind of job at once?

Yes. Each search is a "hunt" with its own target titles, salary floor and saved searches, for example one hunt for Applied AI roles and another for Marketing Director roles. Every job is checked against all of your hunts, so a job that fits two of them shows up in both with its own score, and dismissing it in one hunt doesn't hide it in the other. Free and Pro include one hunt and Autopilot includes two. On Pro or Autopilot you can add more for $20 a month each ($50 per 3 months on a 3-month plan).

How does the fit score work?

Every job gets a score from 0 to 100 based on seniority, field, pay, location, work style and how well your evidence supports the role. Hard requirements override the score: a job below your salary floor or outside where you can work is blocked no matter how good it looks otherwise. You can see exactly why each job scored the way it did.
